The Summer Perfume, or Solstice Perfume is being designed this week….the elements that are going into this beauty are reminiscent of a sunny dry high elevation mountainous briar rose path that I remember from my years in Taos, New Mexico. This one day we walked along this beautiful dirt road at a house that my painter friend Jan Sessler was renting at the time. We were going to have some wine and a light dinner after our walk and all the pretty roses were in bloom along that path, with the birds singing nonstop all the length of the trail, and the vast mesa spilling out in our view like a painting from an old Taos master, with 100 mile views. The heat from that day, the elements of that season, the scent of the soil, and the roses and all the flora in full height of summer, is now influencing this blend which will ripen and be ready for shipment in late May.
